Types of Brain MRI We Perform
Plain Brain MRI
Standard non-contrast MRI covering all brain parenchyma, white matter, cerebellum, brainstem and cranial nerves. Used for most neurological screening and follow-up.
Brain MRI with Contrast (CEMRI)
Gadolinium contrast is used to highlight blood-brain barrier breakdown — essential for tumours, infections, metastases and inflammatory conditions.
MR Angiography (MRA)
Non-invasive imaging of the cerebral arteries and veins — for aneurysm detection, AVM evaluation and carotid/vertebral artery assessment.
Epilepsy Protocol MRI
High-resolution thin-slice sequences specifically designed for epilepsy — includes hippocampal volumetry and cortical mapping.
Brain Perfusion MRI
Assesses cerebral blood flow — important in acute stroke workup and tumour characterisation. Processed via Synapse 3D.
How to Prepare for Your Brain MRI
- Remove all metal objects — jewellery, hairpins, hearing aids
- Inform us if you have a pacemaker, cochlear implant or any metal implant
- For contrast MRI: fast for 4 hours before the scan
- Bring your doctor's referral and any previous scans for comparison
- The scan takes approximately 30–45 minutes
